President and Board Message
Dear FCCU Member/shareholders,
These days, it’s all about saving time, saving money, and saving paper. At Financial Center, we value our member/shareholder’s time and money (and the environment), and that’s exactly why we’ve gone digital with our annual report—giving you a wealth of information that is at your fingertips no matter where you go.
Our entire focus in 2011 was helping members save time and money. Keeping the credit union focused on our member/shareholders needs, we worked on bringing you service that was faster and friendlier than ever before (and that is truly saying something!). Along the way, we also took steps toward paperless banking, doing our part to help the environment and decrease the clutter.
We accomplished these goals through upgraded ATMs, updated check processing, e-signatures for lending, and the introduction of Member Service Representatives at our Manteca and Benjamin Holt branch locations. Joining the expert ranks of the MSRs in Lodi, these staff members are positioned to help you with both your lending and deposit needs, creating a one-stop-shop to get your financial business done. And that you did, with the Credit Union helping members see their dreams come to fruition with nearly $64,000,000 in gross loans given this year.
And all of these improvements were accomplished without hindering the quality of our service. You, our member/shareholders, recognized this when you once again voted Financial Center as Best of San Joaquin.
We also ensured that your hard-earned money remained safe throughout the year, retaining more than 25% in capital and reserves, setting us apart from other financial institutions by ranking at the 99th percentile of large credit unions in the United States. These and other safe practices were acknowledged by Bauer Financial when they once again awarded the credit union their top 5 Star safety ratings.
The Board of Directors sincerely thanks you for turning to the credit union with your financial needs. By continuing to invest in the credit union cooperative, you are helping to ensure your fellow member/shareholders’ needs are met.
